Olivia multifaceted dancer specialising in ballet, jazz, tap and lyrical, but will give anything a go, she is working on expanding her repertoire in becoming acro certified. Olivia has been dancing for over 18 years and feels lucky to pass on her passion to aspiring dancers.
Olivia was born and raised in Newcastle. Her passion of all things dance began when she joined her first dance class at the age of 3. As she grew so did her love for dance, she quickly filled as many afternoons as possible with dance and weekends when she could. Olivia participated in ballet lessons to learn the syllabus of Royal Academy of Dance up to intermediate foundation. Olivia worked hard to achieve excellent results in her dance exams and values the experience of partaking in these.
Her commitment and enthusiasm lead her to participate in the competitive dance world. She competed in both solo and group routines for over ten years until the covid pandemic brought eisteddfods to a halt. Additionally, Olivia has performed in various corporate events locally, assisting in the choreography of many of these shows.
Olivia has been teaching dance for 6 years, her teaching career began as an assistant teacher, but quickly progressed to teaching her own classes and dances. She continues to grow her skills in teaching and choreography of both recreational and competitive pieces.She has instructed at various dance workshops; she particularly enjoys developing highly valuable and enjoyable days for the children.
Olivia has taught all age groups from babies to adults, she has discovered her passion for teaching within the ages of the junior school. She loves creating imaginative and developmentally appropriate lesson plans for these younger dancers. She hopes to continue foster the love for dance in many young dancers for many years to come.
