The Certificate III in Dance trains dancers and develops skills to commence them on their journey towards a professional career in dance.
The program provides a link between a student’s current level of technique and the level required to complete the Certificate IV in Dance.
The schedule is a careful balance between dance and the student’s educational studies entering into an arrangement with Distant Education.
The students schedule consists of 3 full days of dance which include daily ballet class and regular weekly contemporary classes, repertoire classes and solo works for classical ballet. Students also get the opportunity to be included in classical, contemporary work along with coaching classes in ballet and contemporary technique.
Students who complete the Certificate III in Dance program will have an in-depth understanding of what is required to be a full time dance student and professional dancer.
A successful audition is required and a distinction in RAD Advanced Foundation studies (or equivalent) is preferred to be part of this initiative.
Students receive numerous opportunities for performance throughout the year working with our in-house choreographers on solo and group performances. The opportunity for individualised, professional choreography is one of the enormous benefits of completing training through NCD.
