Join us these winter school holidays for an intensive series of Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus workshops designed to help dancers build confidence, improve technique and gain valuable insight into the expectations of RAD examinations.
Hosted by the National College of Dance, these workshops provide a unique opportunity for dancers to receive expert coaching in a supportive and encouraging environment while continuing their progress throughout the winter break.
Students from all dance schools are warmly welcomed and encouraged to attend. To support you in preparing for an upcoming RAD examination, these workshops offer valuable guidance and inspiration for dancers at every level.

The winter break provides the perfect opportunity to consolidate learning, refine technique and return to Term 3 feeling confident and motivated.
Throughout the workshops, dancers will:
- Strengthen technical foundations and correct placement
- Improve musicality, artistry and performance quality
- Gain a deeper understanding of RAD syllabus requirements
- Develop greater confidence for examinations and assessments
- Receive corrections and feedback
- Improve strength, coordination and movement quality

The workshops are designed to complement regular studio training and provide dancers with additional coaching that supports long-term development and examination success.
Open to All Dance Schools
The National College of Dance is delighted to welcome dancers from across the Hunter Region and beyond.
You do not need to be a National College of Dance student to participate.
These workshops are open to:
- Students currently studying the RAD syllabus
- Dancers preparing for future RAD examinations
Our goal is to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where dancers can learn, grow and be inspired.
What Will Be Covered?
Workshop content will be tailored to each level and may include:
- RAD syllabus coaching
- Examination expectations and preparation
- Technique development and refinement
- Port de bras and artistry
- Musicality and performance presentation
- Allegro and travelling exercises
- Character and stylistic coaching (where applicable)
Students will leave with practical tools and knowledge that can be immediately applied to their weekly classes and examination preparation.
Guest Faculty
Elise Frawley ARAD RTS
The National College of Dance is delighted to welcome Elise Frawley, one of Australia’s most respected ballet educators and a Royal Academy of Dance Examiner, to lead the Winter Workshop Program.
Elise has dedicated her career to the training and development of young dancers and has extensive experience preparing students for successful RAD examinations across all levels. As an RAD Examiner, she brings unique insight into examination standards, expectations and best practice, providing dancers with valuable guidance that extends beyond the studio.
Known for her supportive teaching style, technical expertise and ability to inspire confidence in young dancers, Elise is passionate about helping every student reach their individual potential while developing a genuine love of classical ballet.
Her workshops provide dancers with an exceptional opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge from an examiner while receiving expert coaching in technique, artistry and performance quality.
Supported by the National College of Dance Faculty
Throughout the workshops, members of the National College of Dance’s experienced RAD teaching team will also be in attendance to support students during class sessions.
Having multiple teachers available throughout the program allows dancers to benefit in ensuring every participant receives individual attention, encouragement and guidance.
