Daniel Baker, a past Sydney Eisteddfod Scholarship winner, completed his full-time training under the Progressing Ballet Technique founder Marie Walton Mahon and went on to graduate from the School of American Ballet in New York City.
Baker began his career in the Miami City Ballet where he held the rank of Soloist and went on to join the San Francisco Ballet performing numerous principal roles. He later joined the iconic Twyla Tharp Dance performing in her 50th Anniversary Tours and was a Tharp technique repetiteur and guest teacher at Indiana State University.
Baker has performed both classical and contemporary works by choreographers such as Balanchine, Robbins, Forsythe, Ratmansky, Wheeldon, Elo, Morris, Tudor, and Taylor, as well as appeared in two PBS Great Performances TV specials. Baker has also appeared in Commercials, Film and Television on Networks such as Netflix, HBO, NBC, and FOX.
Daniel was a finalist on the US version of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ working with multiple Emmy Award-winning Choreographers including NAPPYTABS, Mia Michaels, Sonya Tayeh, and Christopher Scott. Daniel has also appeared in the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular Featuring the Rockettes for multiple seasons.
Daniel has been a sort out master class teacher, mentor, and adjudicator on the Convention circuit touring the USA, Canada, and Australia.
