DESCRIPTION:Who is this session for?\nThis session is for parents of dancers who may be considering full-time dance training at some stage over the next one to two years but are unsure of the process\, unsure whether it would suit their dancer\, or simply want to start gathering information before making any decisions. \nMany parents ask us questions such as: \n\nHow do I know if my child is suited to full-time training?\nWhat opportunities are available in dance?\nWhat does a full-time program actually look like?\nIs professional dance a realistic option for my child?\nWhen should we start thinking about auditions or applications?\n\nThe purpose of this session is to answer those questions and provide information to help families understand the options available. \nWhat will you find out?\nDuring the afternoon we will discuss: \n\nThe different full-time programs available at the National College of Dance\nWhat a typical training week looks like\nAcademic and educational pathways\nCareer opportunities within the dance industry\nHow to determine whether full-time training may be appropriate for your dancer\nAuditions\, applications and enrolment processes\nKey dates and planning for 2027 entry\nThe experiences and outcomes of previous students\n\nThere will also be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss individual circumstances. \nWhy attend?\nYou do not need to have decided that full-time training is the right pathway for your dancer. \nThis session is intended to provide information for families who would like to better understand what options exist and what steps may be available should their dancer wish to pursue further training in the future. \nRegistrations are essential so that we can ensure sufficient information packs are prepared for all attendees. \nDate: Saturday 30th May\nTime: 2:15pm\nVenue: National College of Dance \nWe look forward to seeing you there. \n

Inspire.\nJoin us these winter school holidays for an intensive series of Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus workshops designed to help dancers build confidence\, improve technique and gain valuable insight into the expectations of RAD examinations. \nHosted by the National College of Dance\, these workshops provide a unique opportunity for dancers to receive expert coaching in a supportive and encouraging environment while continuing their progress throughout the winter break. \nStudents from all dance schools are warmly welcomed and encouraged to attend. To support you in preparing for an upcoming RAD examination\,  these workshops offer valuable guidance and inspiration for dancers at every level. \n\nWhy Attend?\nThe winter break provides the perfect opportunity to consolidate learning\, refine technique and return to Term 3 feeling confident and motivated. \nThroughout the workshops\, dancers will: \n\nStrengthen technical foundations and correct placement\nImprove musicality\, artistry and performance quality\nGain a deeper understanding of RAD syllabus requirements\nDevelop greater confidence for examinations and assessments\nReceive corrections and feedback\nImprove strength\, coordination and movement quality\nWork alongside like-minded dancers who share a passion for ballet\nStay motivated and maintain progress during the holiday period\n\nThe workshops are designed to complement regular studio training and provide dancers with additional coaching that supports long-term development and examination success. \n\nOpen to All Dance Schools\nThe National College of Dance is delighted to welcome dancers from across the Hunter Region and beyond. \nYou do not need to be a National College of Dance student to participate. \nThese workshops are open to: \n\nStudents currently studying the RAD syllabus\nDancers preparing for future RAD examinations\n\nOur goal is to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where dancers can learn\, grow and be inspired. \n\nWhat Will Be Covered?\nWorkshop content will be tailored to each level and may include: \n\nRAD syllabus coaching\nExamination expectations and preparation\nTechnique development and refinement\nPort de bras and artistry\nMusicality and performance presentation\nAllegro and travelling exercises\nCharacter and stylistic coaching (where applicable)\n\nStudents will leave with practical tools and knowledge that can be immediately applied to their weekly classes and examination preparation. \n\nGuest Faculty\nElise Frawley ARAD RTS\nThe National College of Dance is delighted to welcome Elise Frawley\, one of Australia’s most respected ballet educators and a Royal Academy of Dance Examiner\, to lead the Winter Workshop Program. \nElise has dedicated her career to the training and development of young dancers and has extensive experience preparing students for successful RAD examinations across all levels. As an RAD Examiner\, she brings unique insight into examination standards\, expectations and best practice\, providing dancers with valuable guidance that extends beyond the studio. \nKnown for her supportive teaching style\, technical expertise and ability to inspire confidence in young dancers\, Elise is passionate about helping every student reach their individual potential while developing a genuine love of classical ballet. \nHer workshops provide dancers with an exceptional opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge from an examiner while receiving expert coaching in technique\, artistry and performance quality. \n\nSupported by the National College of Dance Faculty\nThroughout the workshops\, members of the National College of Dance’s experienced RAD teaching team will also be in attendance to support students during class sessions. \nHaving multiple teachers available throughout the program allows dancers to benefit in ensuring every participant receives individual attention\, encouragement and guidance. \nOur faculty are committed to creating a welcoming\, positive and professional environment where every dancer feels supported in their learning journey. \n\nA Valuable Holiday Training Opportunity\nFor many dancers\, the winter holidays can result in a break from regular training and momentum.
