SUMMARY:Tiny Tots Open Week - Week 10
DESCRIPTION:Tiny Tots Open Week – A Special Invitation for Our Littlest Stars! \nWe’re so excited to invite our lovely Tiny Tots families to Open Week at the National College of Dance! This is a beautiful opportunity for you to step inside the studio and see the joy\, imagination\, and learning your child experiences each week in dance class. \nAll Tiny Tots classes will be open\, and you are warmly welcome to attend your child’s class during their usual scheduled time. \nDuring Open Week\, you’ll get to: \nMeet your child’s teacher and see how they guide the class with care and creativity.Watch your Tiny Tot in action as they move\, learn\, and grow.Enjoy a behind-the-scenes peek into what they’re working on and how they’re developing new skills. \nWe know how special it is to watch your little one dance\, but we also want to gently remind you that for many Tiny Tots\, having family members watching can feel a little overwhelming. Some children will light up\, while others might become a little shy or unsure with an audience so close. This is completely normal – and nothing to worry about! \nPerforming in front of familiar faces is often harder than dancing on a big stage. It’s similar to how adults feel when giving a speech in front of a big crowd! Experiences like Open Week gently build confidence and help prepare your child for future moments like performances or exams. \nEvery child blossoms at their own pace. Open Week is a time to celebrate your child’s unique progress – not to compare them with others. Some may participate with enthusiasm\, others may take it all in more quietly. Both are valuable parts of the learning process. \nTo help us make Open Week smooth and supportive\, we kindly ask: \nParents stay seated and quiet during class\, as talking can be distracting for the dancers and teachers.Phones are kept on silent\, and photos or videos are only taken with the teacher’s permission.Offer quiet encouragement\, even if your child seems shy – they’re learning and growing every step of the way. \nWe can’t wait to welcome you into the studio to see the magic your child creates each week. Your presence and support mean so much to them (even if they’re pretending not to notice you!). \nThank you for being a part of our NCD family. Let’s make it a joyful and heartwarming Open Week for our tiniest dancers.

SUMMARY:Eisteddfod Update
DESCRIPTION:We hope you’re all well and enjoying your dance journey so far this year! Our senior staff have recently confirmed the competitions for the remainder of 2025 and reviewed their suitability for our dancers. \nPlease find the updated 2025 Eisteddfod Schedule attached for your reference. This will guide our performance opportunities across the rest of the year. \n— \nUpdated Eisteddfod Schedule – (As of 18th June 2025) \nPlease review the dates carefully and mark your calendars accordingly. If any changes occur\, these will be announced asap. \nEisteddfod Schedule \n\nEach event will be followed up with more detailed information as it becomes available from the organisers – including performance orders\, arrival times\, and costume requirements. \n  \nCompetition Updates: \nTaree (Live To Dance): As many of you are aware\, due to severe flooding earlier this year\, the Taree Eisteddfod was postponed to late July. We’ve made the decision not to attend this event\, as it now falls in our exam week. \nTalent Tribe (June): We will not be participating this year due to a number of our students being unavailable on the dates. \n\nAbermain (Aug): This event is recommended for our soloists only. 6s & 8s groups have been allocated to alternative events.\nNEW:  \nPort Macquarie District Eisteddfod: We are excited to confirm that we’ve added this event to our calendar. It’s held at the beautiful Glasshouse Theatre in Port Macquarie\, and all groups will enter. Actual performance days/sessions will be confirmed closer to the date by the organisers. \nWe’re so proud of all the progress and passion our dancers have shown so far this year. They’ve worked incredibly hard\, and we can’t wait to see them shine on stage in the months ahead. \nAlso a big CHOOKAS to all our groups performing this weekend at Lakeside Dance Challenge  – we know you’ll give it your all! \nAs always\, thank you for your flexibility with these updates. If you have any questions\, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.

SUMMARY:Tiny Tots Showcase Photo Day and Rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:Information for all Tiny Tots Students performing in the showcase Concert. \nWe are excited to hold a gorgeous photo day for our beautiful Tiny Tots. \nDrop off time 8.45am and collection time is 11.00am \nPhotographed by photographer Ashley Manton from Flashash Productions\, these photos will be themed to complement the memory of your 2025 showcase. \nPhotos will commence at 9am and will be finished by the end of rehearsals at 11am.  All dancers will have a photo taken unless you specifically advise you do not want photos taken. \nWhile class photos are being taken  we will be rehearsing your dancers class performance in preparation for the showcase concert on 18 May. \nOn Photo Day:  \nWe ask that you bring your dancer fully dressed in their costume to the studio with hair in a bun and light makeup. \nApplying your Tiny Tots Makeup \nWhen applying makeup to your Tiny Tot\, we ask you apply some lightweight foundation or BB cream\,  eyeliner and mascara\, with some brown or light pink eyeshadow\,  blusher and red lipstick. \nArriving in your costume \nThe week before your photo day\, we will provide you with your dancers showcase costume. \nPlease arrive to the photo day and rehearsal\, with your dancer dressed in their costume with a large t-shirt or dressing gown over the top to protect the costume from getting dirty.   We will provide any accessories on the day.   We will place your dancers items in their box and ensure they have their t-shirt / dressing gown over their costume to go home. \nWhy do we ask our young dancers to wear light makeup? \nWhen we use flash photography and also use stage lighting at the theatre\, the features of our beautiful little dancers are usually washed out with the lighting.  That’s why we ask that they wear some BB cream or light foundation\, blush\, mascara and lipstick so that their features can be seen when performing or having their photos taken.  We can assure you on stage your dancer will not look like they are wearing any makeup at all. \n  \n

These talented artists will return to their roots to entertain and celebrate with us\, demonstrating the high level of skill and artistry that has become synonymous with the Marie Walton Mahon Dance Academy and the National College of Dance. This unique gathering will provide a rare opportunity to witness the exceptional talents of our alumni\, showcasing a blend of classical and contemporary pieces that will leave audiences spellbound.\n\n \n\nAn Evening of Nostalgia and Inspiration\n\n \n\nOur host for the evening will be the multi-talented Chloe Bayliss\, a former graduate who has gone on to make a name for herself as an actress\, author and performer.
