DESCRIPTION:National College of Dance\n2026 End of year production\nStudent Concert Commitment Form \nDear Parent/Guardian\, \nWe are excited to invite your child to participate in our 2026 end-of-year production. This is a highlight of the year and an important performance opportunity for our students. \nDATE: 10th December 2026 \nAnnouncement of the concert will be made on Saturday 22nd August between 5pm and 6pm at the NCD studio. \nTo confirm your child’s involvement\, please complete and return this form below by Friday 28th August\, 2026.  \nWe will be asking you to advise whether your child is participating or not participating in the concert.  If we do not receive a response by the due date\, we will assume your dancer will be involved and commence arranging them a costume. \nAs part of the concert\, each child will receive a complimentary concert t-shirt. \nParent/Guardian Commitment: \nBy agreeing to perform in the concert parents acknowledge and agree to the following: \n\nMy child will participate in the 2026 end-of-year production.\nParents understand that there is a participation fee of $130 –  Parents understand that my child will be asked to attend at all scheduled rehearsals and performances.\nParents acknowledge that a costume fee will be charged per class/character.\nIf my child withdraws from the concert for any reason after costumes have been ordered\, Parents agree to pay the full costume fee\, as costumes are custom-ordered and non-refundable.\nParents give permission for their child’s image to be used in concert promotional material\, including programs\, social media\, website and other marketing channels.\nA costume deposit of $100 per student.\n\nWe look forward to creating a truly memorable performance with your child! SUMMARY:NCD - Supporting your dancers health performance workshop
DESCRIPTION:As part of NCD Wellness Month\, we are delighted to invite you to an evening with Dr Tracey Kelty from the University of Newcastle. \nEvidence-Based Nutritional Guidance for Parents of a young Dancer\nAs parents\, we all want to provide the very best support for our children to give them a great start to develop a strong healthy body. Research consistently shows that there are many factors that influence the eating habits of an adolescent and while they are living at home this is once setting that is vitally important to establish healthy\, evidence based lifelong health behaviours. \nThis workshop has been designed to provide dance parents with practical\, evidence-based information to help support their adolescent dancer to promote healthy eating behaviours that foster growth and development for dance performance throughout these important developmental years. \nDr Tracey Kelty is an academic in Health and Physical Education at the University of Newcastle. For many years\, she has worked alongside National College of Dance\, delivering anatomy and nutrition education to our full-time vocational students.  In addition\, has the lived experience of being a parent of a professional ballet dancer\, Dr Kelty also understands firsthand the unique demands placed on dancers and their dance families. Combining her extensive research with lived experience\, she will share practical\, evidence-based strategies to help parents confidently support the health\, wellbeing and performance of their young dancer at home. \nDate: Tuesday 25 August\nTime: 6:30 pm\nVenue: National College of Dance \nDuring the evening\, Dr Kelty will explore the following areas:\n\nEvidence based nutritional needs of adolescent dancers\nNutritional facts and misinformation\nThe importance of macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients for dancers\nGuide to food and fluid choices for life\, training and performance.\nMedical and scientific support for dancers\nReliable sources of information to support health and wellbeing\nSupporting health\, growth and performance through everyday food choices\nStrategies for planning what to eat on the go! Including practical ideas for busy dance families to implement\n\nPlease note: This workshop is designed specifically for parents and carers.
